Q: what are the main high-end application areas?


The main application fields of fumed silica are as follows:

1. HTV high temperature silicone rubber, such as the whole chain of silicone, is basically added with fumed silica (such as silica gel for medical and health fields, such as the production of high-pressure insulator for high-speed rail, such as special silica gel for aerospace, such as the rubber for UV resistance, high temperature and low temperature resistance, such as LED packaging)

Q: what kind of fumed silica do customers need most at present?


At present, what customers need most is the middle and high-end fumed silica, rather than the domestic low-end fumed silica. It needs a large number of gas phase silica with high dispersion, stable quality, optional specific surface range, lower or higher than the surface, and appropriate thickening.


Q: MTCs technology, OCI technology, STC technology, which technology is better? In addition, what technology do Evonik, Cabot and wacker use?


There is no special category for fumed silica technology. There is no MTCs technology or STC technology. MTCs refers to the by-product of organosilicon monomer - methyltrichlorosilane; STC refers to the by-product of polysilicon trichlorosilane field - silicon tetrachloride. No matter which raw material is the main technology, the combustion of raw material silicon tetrachloride or methyltrichlorosilane can be realized. The key is whether the product can be done well and make high added value. At present, there is basically no problem in burning silica with chlorosilane. The difficulty is the high-end silica with stable quality, high-end, good dispersion, controllable viscosity and thickening, stable pH and total chlorine. It should be pointed out that different raw materials have different yield and brand proportion due to different reaction heat release, but they are all controllable.


The biggest disadvantage of domestic technology is the low production capacity of a single set. Most of the production lines have a production capacity of about 1000-1500 tons, known as an annual output of 5000, 6000 ton capacity is five or six production lines, with low single line capacity and high unit consumption; moreover, poor product dispersion, uneven particle size, poor viscosity, pH and total chlorine index, and high metal impurities lead to many problems in the downstream application of the product, and even many high-end fields cannot be applied, and in many cases, methyltrichlorosilane cannot be used as raw material for production.


Foreign technologies, such as Wacker in Germany and Cabot in the United States, can be used according to the situation. Silicon tetrachloride, Party A can be used as raw materials alone or STC, MTCs and TCS can be used as raw materials in a certain proportion. Moreover, the single set of production capacity is high. The production capacity of Evonik, Cabot and wacker single line is as high as 10000 tons per year.


The performance of foreign advanced technology is as follows:
