Application of Silicone Dioxide  in UV curable coatings

UV curable coating (UVCC) is an environmentally friendly and energy-saving coating developed in the 1960s. Compared with traditional coatings, it has the characteristics of economy, environmental friendliness, energy conservation and efficiency. Its disadvantages are expensive equipment and raw materials, poor adhesion, and easy cracking.

Filling silica into UV curable coatings significantly improves the hardness and heat resistance of the cured coatings. At the same time, it can improve the curing speed, hardness, adhesion, and thermal stability of UV cured coatings at low temperatures.

There are also studies indicating that the presence of silica can significantly improve the wear resistance, hardness, impact strength, and flexibility of epoxy acrylate UV cured coatings.
