Precipitated Silica Applied in Leather
Leather finishing agent is polyurethane system, including high gloss (bright) and matte. Generally, the required gloss is adjusted according to a certain proportion of bright and matte. Silica is used as matte finishing agent to assist extinction. The precipitated dumb powder is micron level due to its large proportion and coarse particle size. In this way, it is easy to precipitate and whiten in the resin system, especially poor permeability. The extinction effect is OK, and the precipitation phenomenon can also be solved. However, the cost is high, the extinction force is too strong, and it is easy to reduce the brightness. At this time, combined with ultra-fine silica, it can achieve the matting effect, reduce the cost and prevent sedimentation. More importantly, it will not reduce the brightness and fullness, with good penetration and strong hand feeling. It can solve the problems of fogging, whitening, precipitation stratification, poor penetration and water intolerance of precipitation matting powder. It has been widely used in the leather finishing industry. Leather finishing is mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian and other provinces.
The so-called extinction, also known as matte, is the physical uniform dispersion of nano small particles in the system. When the light passes through, after continuous reflection by these small particles, the so-called total reflection occurs, so that the light cannot be emitted. In this way, the surface looks dark and dull.
