             Big Pore Volume SiO2 for Paint and Anti-corrosive Pigment 

This silica product for paint and pigment JS-500 has superior performance,its BET can be 540m2/g,the general BET of precipitated silica product is about 170-180m2/g ,so it is about 3 times of general precipitated silica.You can imagine,about 17g of the silica powder ,its total BET is about a big football field.So this silica powder has good absorption,it is  used as a  carrier for paint nad     anti-corrosive pigment. 

When the SiO2 coating loaded with corrosion inhibitor is attached to the metal surface, which can shield the influence of corrosion factors caused by the external environment. When the coating has defects, the corrosion inhibitor is released to the corresponding position for cross-linking to complete the repair. The researchers used mesoporous SiO2 as the nano container, loaded 8-hydroxyquinoline as the corrosion inhibitor, and added it into the epoxy coating. The results show that when the article is corroded, the pH value around the coating changes, and the slow release agent in SiO2 starts to dissolve and release to the corresponding position. Only 2% corrosion inhibitor by mass fraction is required to play a good role.So the silica powder can reduce the dosage of the anti-corrosive agent.
